Buy Somontano wines
In this beautiful region, in addition to being able to buy the famous Somontano wines, we can match them to locally sourced products to complete an excellent gastronomic proposal; Radiquero cheese, olive oil from Bierge, Alquézar and Costean, craft beers and unique sausage products such as longaniza and chiretas. Vegetable cultivation in Barbastro is rich and varied; the local pink tomato is already world famous, alongside white asparagus and borage, whose leaves are used for local pastries known as crepillos. And it would be impossible not to mention the local speciality of lamb that is enjoyed on the grill, in the oven or as the base of a casserole.
With all these ingredients, local restaurants do wonders, with respect to the product, and owners and staff show friendliness to the many tourists that accompany us for much of the year.
All this helps to form a powerful Enotourism sector; the wineries welcome visitors who enjoy Somontano wines made with autochthonous varieties such as Moristel, Alcañon and Garnacha as well as international varieties that have adapted well to our climate. Cabernet Saugvinon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Gewuztraminer, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc complete a rich palette to make great wines.
We should not forget the part that nature and culture play, as the medieval village of Alquézar, the River Vero and Barbastro are starting points for some fantastic routes through our region.
